The 2024 IPSW aims to attract a wide audience, from experts in the development and application of passive sampling techniques to new users, to improve the scientifical knowledge and the use of passive sampling approaches to meet risk assessment, policy, and regulatory needs.
The 13th IPSW in Utrecht has highlighted the importance of exchanges between scientists and policymakers. Policymakers and water authorities, involved in the Water Framework Directive monitoring, expressed there expectations and underlined the need of harmonization and normalization. We propose to continue this discussion along the 14th IPSW, with exchanges between scientists to consider how passive samplers can be offered to policymakers.
